The Henna Djinn

The Henna Djinn

Hayet Clark is a self-taught Henna and Jagua artist, living in Sonoma County. Her passion for art began as a child, as it does with so many, and led her through the dreadful reality of art school, insanely courageous and curious employment, residency and travels in several countries and on several continents, and eventually to Punjab, India in 2005, for a Sikh wedding in Ludhiana. While there she became absorbed in the art of Henna and the ceremonies she was witness to and has devoted her life today to sharing the message of blessing and honor that this fragrant shrub serves. If she is not working in her salon, I Dream of Henna, in Sebastopol, she is most likely foraging the spinning rock with her son, Astral Aiden, looking for new ways for foment community and the simple act of 'belonging'.
